Photovoltaic Cells

Photovoltaic cells connect together to create photovoltaic panels or modules and are usually contained within a sealed unit with the panels themselves being covered with a thin glass sheet to protect them. Photovoltaic panels are also referred to as solar panels or solar PV panels. At the heart of a solar panel is the principle of the photovoltaic effect which occurs in the constituent materials.

What is Solar Electricity?

Solar electricity is the conversion of the suns light into useable energy. Systems are put in place that process sun rays either directly through photovoltaic cells (also known as PV's) or indirectly through concentrated solar power (CSP), where light rays are streamed into one area from a much larger gathering space.
