General Features
Private Medical Insurance is often referred to a PMI. It generally covers the cost of medical diagnosis and treatment of acute conditions. Acute conditions are said to be curable, short-term illnesses or injuries that will respond well to treatment.
This insurance can either be set up independently, or more commonly, can be established as part of a group scheme, via an employer.
The level of cover provided by PMI plans will vary between policies and providers. Some plans are much more comprehensive than others.
