What is an Air Source Heat Pump?

An air source heat pump (ASHP) is a system that can provide heat for under floor heating, radiators and hot water. This is done by the pump absorbing heat from the outside air using the same process as a refrigerator does to extract heat from its interior. It is able to extract heat even when the outside temperature is down to minus fifteen degrees. The heat that an air source heat pump extracts from the outside air is renewed naturally, negating some of the impact on the environment caused by the electricity they use in order to run.
