Solar Panels
Solar panel research and development has been going on for well over 50 years and solar panels are becoming more efficient, more powerful and more affordable. Solar panel technology uses the photovoltaic effect to generate power from sunlight. The photovoltaic effect is present in the main components of solar cells, namely; semiconductors such as crystalline silicon or cadmium telluride. The photovoltaic effect occurs when photons from the sun are adsorbed by these semiconductors which react by producing electrons or electricity. Suntech solar panels are designed to work at optimum power even when in low light conditions and incorporate Suntech TruPower technology to ensure full power from the factory.
Suntech Solar Panels Cost
Suntech solar panels are available for any size of solar system application and for every budget. Suntech 65 watt solar panels will cost around £210 in the UK and about £330 for an 80 watt solar PV panel. Suntech 240 watt and 260 watt solar panels can be found for approximately £965 and £1038 respectively. Suntech solar panel prices are backed up by a 5 year product warranty and a 25 year performance warranty. Prices will vary between UK suppliers and on the number of solar panels required. Large volume discounts are normally available if the order is for a large installation and it is always helpful if the supplying company is also the one installing the system, as they may be able to negotiate better discounts.
MCS Accredited for Feed in Tariffs
The Microgeneration Certification Scheme is the body in charge of product and service accreditation for the purposes of inclusion into the UK government’s Feed in Tariffs or FITs for renewable energy. FITs were introduced in April 2010 to incentivize home owners and businesses to make the switch to solar power by paying them for every unit of electricity produced by solar panels, whether or not that power is used by the household or sold back to the national grid. Power used by the home or business generating it will attract cash payments of up to 41.3p per kilowatt hour (kWh) or if the power is unused and fed back to the grid then an additional 3p per kWh is paid. However, only MCS accredited products installed by MCS accredited suppliers are eligible. Suntech solar panels are MCS accredited so they can earn their owners thousands of pounds a year under the scheme.
Compare Suntech Suppliers
Comparing Suntech suppliers can be an easy task if a well established energy advice website is used which provides product and supplier information in an unbiased way. Products can be reviewed and Suntech solar panel suppliers compared by price and experience. Please remember that only MCS accredited suppliers/installers can supply and fit solar panel systems able to attract revenue from the UK government under Feed in Tariffs for renewable energy.
